L'Oreal Derma Genesis Pore Minimizing Serum

I have a very good experience with the Derma Genesis series. I really liked the "regular" serum and also the "regular" day and night face creams. 

Since I have enlarged pores and since I still didn't give up on finding a GOOD pore-minimizing-serum, I decided to give it a chance. 15ml cost around 15€.

And I am disappointed. 

It comes in a small pump bottle, like the other serum. The consistency it not as fluid and you need to take much more product. It smells the same (which is bad..). The texture is velvety and reminds me of other anti-aging serums. 

I wouldn't mind all that if it did something to my pores. But unfortunately - it didn't. They are still as big as always. It feels nice on the face, but except for that I don't have the feeling it does anything special. According to the L'Oreal homepage, it should have a positive influence on pores, lines, skin texture. Well, the skin does fell soft, but I don't see any noticeable effect on skin's texture/lines. 

I am going back to the original serum, which had a noticeable effect on my skin.

L'Oreal Nutri Soft Soft body milk

I don't know if this body lotion is really new or just came out in a new version. Anyways, I try it for the first time.
This lotion comes in 2 versions, and they have different names in different countries. I got mine in Germany, the bottle is white and it is written on it "for dry, demanding skin". I think that the other version was green and for very dry skin.


My body skin is not very dry. I have some problems in winter, because of the heating, and that is why I decided to try that.
I am extremely satisfied with this body-milk, it is exactly what I was looking for - It is reach and creamy, but not to reach. It absorbs quickly and leaves the skin feeling silky, relaxed, soft. The skin feels hydrated for many many hours. 
And the scent also made me happy. It is unusual for a L'Oreal product to have a nice smell, but this one has - a very subtle lemon-like smell.


It is not expensive (I think it was more or less 4,50 €), a nice amount of 400 gr.
I am happy.

ESSIE Fill The Gap!

A base coat, that is supposed to fill up ridges.

I got it as a present when I bought another ESSIE base coat and I must admit I was very happy didn't pay a cent for that.

The application was easy. I dries up is seconds and leaves a matte finish.

I can not say if it fills the ridges or not, because I don't really have any. The surface of the nail felt very smooth, though.

The biggest problem was, that I couldn't apply my nail polish on top of it. I did wait until it was 100% dry, but still - the brush with the nail polish just couldn't glide on the nail and got "stuck" (hope you understand what I mean). I had to take it off and start all over again, with a proper base.

If you want to use it on its own for a matte look - Great. But as a nail polish base - BIG NO NO!

MAC Zoom fast black lash Mascara

The newest MAC mascara, which is a "deeper, darker version of the popular Zoom lash Zoomblack shade" (according to the MAC homepage). This is supposed to be "an intensely deep carbon black mascara that instantly combs and lifts the lashes for incredible volume and length".


I like this mascara, even though it won't become my favorite. What I like about it is that it defines the lashes in a few strokes, makes them look longer, but without clumping. The lashes are nicely separated. I can not really say it this mascara lifts the lashes, because my lashes are naturally curled. Anyway, I was happy with the result. The color is a deep carbon black but I can not say I got an "incredible" volume. The volume was ok, but nothing extraordinary. 
It stays all day long.


2 cons - 1. It flakes. For some reason, I couldn't apply this mascara without getting some product on my lids. And cleaning the lids was not easy (you can also see some rest-overs in the pictures).
2. It wasn't easy to take it off at the end of the day, which is a common problem for many MAC mascaras. 


All in all - nice mascara for everyday.

OPI You don't know Jacques MATTE

A lot was said and written about this nail polish. Both the original and the matte version , are best-sellers, so after falling in love with the cream formula, I couldn't wait for my upcoming New-York trip and bought it in Germany, for 16 Euro!

I already tried 2 colors from the OPI matte collection - Russian navy and Lincoln park after dark. Both gave me an opaque color after the first coat, both lasted 2-3 days. 

That is why I was a bit disappointed by YDNJ - Matte. The color is more or less like the original, but one coat gave a very bad coverage, with noticeable brush signs. The second coat was much better, but the result was still not 100% opaque. I love the color, though. The cleanest mid-tone grey.

Like all the matte polishes, also this one dries up extremely fast, so you don't have the chance to correct any mistakes. You have to take quite a lot of product on the brush and apply it in one stroke. You shouldn't any base/top coat and also avoid hand creams.

I applied it yesterday and I don't think it will last for more than 2-3. Which is ok, by the way, because it is not meant to stay longer. The picture was taken today and you can see some scratches at the tips.

Nice color for those who like the matte trend (like me), but not the best formula.

OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyreness and ESSIE Matte about you

Well, for a long time I've been wanting to try this wonder called "Matte about you". I already tried to of the OPI Matte polishes, and loved the way they looked. They didn't last for more than 2-3 days and I didn't like the fact that I couldn't use a base coat, but I loved the way they looked.
That is why I was so excited about the Matte about you - It can be used over any polish, and you can still use a base coat under the original color. 


I applied it over OPI "Suzi skis in the pyreness". I find this color amazing. I am a freak of dark polishes, and this is a very very dark grey, with a hint of blue. The first coat was disappointing. It came out very sheer (too sheer) and the brush strokes were notable. The second coat made it look much better, even though it was not 100% opaque. I have no problems with the normal OPI brush. 

And then came the "Matte about you". I had no application issues, but I never have problems with ESSIE. Just like with the OPI Matte polishes, also here it dried out very very fast. The look was just as matte (ok, maybe just a bit less, but nothing normal people would notice). The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that you could see the a hint of shiny base coat. Again, nothing that normal people would notice, but who said I am normal?

Saying power - After 2 days the color was still holding nicely. BUT, the matte coat started to disappear at the tip of the nails, so most of the nail was still matte but the tips got the original shiny finish. This is something I can not bare - so I took it off.

All in all I recommend the matte about you, because it allows you to give any nail polish a matte finish. Just don't expect it too last. 

A for the OPI color - a very nice color for those who like it dark, but the application is not perfect.
